IDGOP Statement on House and Senate Liaisons

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

December 29, 2022

Boise, ID —

This past summer, our grassroots activists pushed for major changes in party leadership and made significant additions to our party’s platform. The summer’s events set the stage for a resounding electoral victory for Idaho Republicans in November.

Now begins the hard work of translating our electoral mandate into actual legislation.

To defend the interests of Idaho’s hardworking men and women — and to ensure the party platform is defended and advanced in the deliberations of the State Legislature — I’m pleased to announce our new legislative liaisons.

Representative Julianne Young of Blackfoot will serve as our House liaison. Entering her 3rd term, Representative Young is a respected voice for Idaho’s families and children.

In her first term representing the Magic Valley, Senator Glenneda Zuiderveld will serve as the Republican Party’s liaison in the State Senate. Prior to her service in the State Senate, Senator Zuiderveld earned a reputation as a committed community leader, helping strengthen citizen engagement throughout the South Central Idaho.

The role of the legislative liaison is to ensure that the party’s resolutions — drafted and supported by everyday citizens — are brought to the attention of the legislators and are advanced in respective committees.

We are confident that Representative Young and Senator Zuiderveld will do an excellent job in supporting the voice of the people and we appreciate their dedication in advancing the interests of the Republican Party.

Dorothy Moon,

Chairwoman of the Idaho Republican Party
