Rebecca has 34 years of experience in commercial and residential real estate and 16 years experience setting and administering budgets for ACHD to assure that tax dollars were used efficiently and effectively. Rebecca has been a dedicated community volunteer and public servant for 34 years, including serving on the board of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Ada County and other volunteer organizations. Issue 1
Assuring that property value assessments are accurate, fair, and consistent, and that property owners have convenient access to all data available to the Assessor’s office in order to evaluate the accuracy of their assessed value. Analyzing the information currently available to the public on the Assessor’s website and making improvements to assure transparency and accuracy, including improvements to the accuracy and reliability of the online mapping system, and the inclusion of sales, and other data used by the Assessor’s office in determining assessed values.
Evaluating the property assessment appeals procedures to assure that citizens are treated fairly and have easy access to complete and accurate information, in order to evaluate the accuracy of their assessment.
Issue 2
Analyzing the Assessor’s budget to identify opportunities for cost savings and improvements to the use of tax dollars while maintaining a high level of service (including reducing wait times at the DMV offices).
Issue 3
Working with other elected officials and the legislature to evaluate and pass legislative changes to lessen the property tax burden.
