Biography and Background
I have been a public servant since I was 10 years old. I have a masters degree in psychology. My wife and I have 5 children and have been married 20 years. I served 14 years as a direct mental health care provider, and for the past 8 years have worked in primary prevention, government, and advocacy. I care more about serving people well, than making money. I work in nonprofit, and love making a difference every day.

“I have read the Idaho Constitution and the Idaho Republican Party Platform. Except for the provisions specifically noted below, I support the Idaho Republican Party Platform and accept it as the standard by which my performance as a candidate and as an officeholder should be evaluated. I certify that I am not a candidate, officer, delegate or position holder in any party other than the Republican Party.”
Article 1,
Section 3: Reform of Congress C. Repeal of the 17th amendment – I disagree. Section 4: Sound Currency A. I support a sound currency but question whether this is the right approach.
Section 5: State Legislature
D. Nullifying laws – I believe Idaho should stand up for our constitutional rights in court and by pushing back generally but nullification seems to violate the supremacy clause of the Idaho Constitution.
E. Term Limits: I support term limits.
F. Eliminate the reapportionment commission: I think that it would be a mistake to eliminate the commission that was put in place by Idaho voters without another public vote.
Article 2, Section 3: Citizen Involvement in Government.
Primary elections: I feel that by limiting the primary elections in this manner we miss the opportunity to engage new voters who have recently turned 18 and have yet to learn which party to affiliate with, but might feel strongly about a particular candidate and not their party.
Article X: State and Federal Lands Both the state and federal government need to be better partners with local communities. Public lands should remain open to the public.
Article XIV, American Family
Section 2.A. Nullification in support of traditional marriage — While I understand the sentiment, I think this may violate the supremacy clause of the Idaho Constitution.
XVI, Law and Order with Justice
Section 5, Juvenile Justice – I strongly agree with this one.
