Biography and Background
I’m a product of a local experience similar to many of my fellow Idahoans.
My dreams started off at Purple Sage Golf Course in Caldwell when I was young. My parents told me if I could save up some money, they’d take me to Disneyland, so I took the challenge. I loaded up a red wagon with a cooler of lemonade, cups and my springer spaniel, Melanie, and parked at Hole Seven, where I would sell homemade lemonade to thirsty golfers for a quarter. I was so successful that I even got other neighborhood kids involved and let them sell, too. It worked, and we went to Disneyland. Today I’m not selling lemonade anymore, but I do help people find what they need. As Market President for First Federal Savings and Loan, I oversee all sales and operations for the Treasure Valley, manage $100 million in growth and work to keep the bank on the forefront of the industry. I love what I do and I wake up every morning feeling blessed being in the shoes I’m in. I originally got my foot in the business with U.S. Bank at the Skyway vista branch in Boise, where I started as a personal banker, followed by a stint at Key Bank. I then worked as vice president for Home Federal Bank and D.L. Evans Bank before finding a home with First Federal bank. Meanwhile, I earned a degree in business management from Boise State University and graduated from the Pacific Coast Banking School through the University of Washington. I have always had the motto that there are lots of people smarter than me, but no one will ever out-work me. This has opened doors and opportunities early on in my career. Outside of work, I’m passionate about giving back to the younger members of the community: I’m past President of the Nampa Boys and Girls Club board. We provide a safe place for kids to be after school and surround themselves with positive peer influence. It also allows mom and dad to keep jobs. That’s better for our overall community. I also served as past president for the Nampa Kiwanis Club, I am currently the Board Chair for the Nampa Saint Alphonsus Foundation and have a seat on the CWI board of Trustees. My beautiful and amazing wife and I are parents to two daughters, 17 and 14. We love the mountains and enjoy hiking, biking, and exploring together. I only am where I am because I’m blessed to be surrounded by amazing people and I learned to never give up.
