Except for the provisions specifically noted below, I support the Idaho Republican Party Platform and accept it as the standard by which my performance as a candidate and as an officeholder should be evaluated. I certify that I am not a candidate, officer, delegate or position holder in any party other than the Republican Party.”
I will fully support the Constitution of the United States and the Idaho State Constitution and took an oath to do so – I take that oath seriously. Because the Idaho GOP platform calls for removal of the 17th Amendment this puts the platform in conflict with the US Constitution. I do not swear an oath to uphold “parts” of the Constitution – my oath is to uphold every part. I do fully support the conservative, and limited government principles in the GOP platform and have been a life-long Republican.
