Biography and Background
I have been a registered Republican voting for and supporting conservative Republican candidates for over forty years.
My wife, Margie, and I have been married for 47 years. We raised four children into successful adulthood and have seven grandchildren. We are now raising one of them because the plague of addiction struck our family in the way it has for so many others.
Margie and I both come from families with conservative values and politics. Many of our family members have backgrounds in the military and law enforcement. Our two sons both served, one in the U.S.M.C., the other in the U.S. Army.
I am a retired police officer and my wife a retired school psychologist. Our life experiences drive our passion for our values. We have lived in Boise a little over five years, and we came here with an Idaho-values mindset. We like working with Idahoans to help retain all the goodness of Idaho.
In Boise, I have been involved in church benevolence projects to help the poor, volunteering in the food pantry, the medical clinic and for the Idaho Agency on Aging to encourage grandparents fostering their grandchildren.
Over the years, I have seen first-hand how non-government organizations are often better at meeting the needs of our neighbors than large government bureaucracies. And do it at a much lower cost.
I have been giving public testimony before the Idaho legislature in support of legislation consistent with conservative values and the Idaho Republican platform.
True conservatives who are frustrated with politicians who campaign with conservative rhetoric but betray our values once elected, can rest assured Steve Keyser will make decisions consistent with the U.S. and Idaho Constitutions and with the Idaho Republican platform.
I am not a Republican In Name Only!
Every day my wife and I are thankful to live in Idaho. We recognize that Idahoans made Idaho great. We do not want to change it and make it something it is not.
We are appalled when local government has a vision for Idaho to be like other states, and when the federal government has a vision to fight against our pro-2nd amendment and pro-life values and force inappropriate curriculum and medical decisions upon our children.
We must all stand strong together for the sovereignty of Idaho.
My law enforcement career has prepared me well for this opportunity to serve Idaho in the State Capitol.
I worked quite a variety of assignments including uniformed patrol, detectives, supervision, narcotics, crime prevention, budgets, and much more.
I have the passion and energy to study and assess proposed legislation, identify the pros and cons as well as the possible unintended consequences, weigh the evidence, evaluate credibility and persuade colleagues based on what’s in the best interest of Idaho.
I can not be bought, and I am beholden to no one, except the good citizens of Idaho.
Vote me into office and I will have your back in the State House.
