Wayne Hurst serves as Chairman of Region 5. He has been involved in the Republican Party for over 25 years serving as a volunteer. He has been a precinct committee chairman, county chairman, state committeeman, and regional chairman. He has actively worked to recruit and elect candidates, and to promote conservative, Idahoan values.
He and his wife, Sherrie, own and operate a diversified, multi-generational row crop family farm in Cassia county. Besides his involvement with the party, he has been active in community, church, and industry service. He is a past president of the Idaho Grain Producers Association, past president of the National Association of Wheat Growers, and past chairman of the National Wheat Foundation. Locally he has served as treasurer of the Mini-Cassia Friends of the NRA, and is an active member of the Magic Philharmonic Orchestra. Throughout his life he has worked to preserve and protect American interests, obey and honor the Constitution, and to build a better future for our children and grandchildren that follow.
He has enjoyed the support of his wife of 42 years, and of their 5 children and 13 grandchildren. 4 of their children are currently serving in the military in active or reserve status.
